NSW & QLD Funding Round Assessment Criteria

Preference will be given to programs that best address the priority areas, demonstrate sound governance and meet the following criteria:-

  1. Alignment

Your project needs to align with the Foundation's Vision, Mission and Charter - addressing the key areas as outlined.

  2. Governance and Capability

Your organization must show both the capacity and capability to manage the service delivery and other elements of the program, including financial management. The organization must demonstrate effective and efficient business practices. You need to demonstrate the evidence or need for the program's development and the program budget must be as realistic and accurate as possible. The potential to scale and replicate the program is desirable.

  3. Staff Engagement

The organization must look to engage Greater Building Society (GBS) staff in elements of the program's service delivery.

  4. Strategy

The program must be practical and capable of making a significant difference to the chosen issue and demonstrating an improvement in life outcomes. The Foundation will look to support programs that address current and emerging issues in an innovative way or address an issue that is not currently being satisfactorily addressed. If you are applying for funding for a community-based program, you must demonstrate you are responding to an identified community need based on consultation or input from the community. A sustainability plan must be developed during the course of the partnership with pathways to future funding clearly articulated.

  5. Outcomes

The program must display sound reasoning and demonstrate the capacity to deliver positive changed outcomes for participants. There must be evidence of realistic, measurable and achievable outcomes. The organization must demonstrate the ability to report and articulate a social return to the families and/or communities with which it works.

  6. Collaboration

The organisation should ideally demonstrate a willingness to form partnerships for shared learnings.

Starlight Reaches Out

Starlight Launches to the Sky

The Starlight Foundation is now visiting more hospitals than ever before. We are helping to bring the inspiring ‘in-hospital’ programs to hospitals in Maitland, Gosford, Armidale, Tamworth, Lismore and even the Gold Coast. These programs will help bring a smile to the faces of seriously ill children and their families. Greater staff members have also been helping the Starlight Captains deliver the program, and will continue to support them as they travel around, lifting the spirits of some really sick kids and reminding them what it’s like to be a child again.
